It is with great pleasure that we present the
annual report of the Association de la presse francophone for 2007-2008. This was the year in which the Association conducted a major review of its by-laws in general, and its membership criteria in particular. At the end of a process that involved consulting with some 50 different publications, the members of the APF adopted a fully revised version of their by-laws.
The year 2007-2008 was also marked by the renewal of the Action Plan on Official Languages. Once again, the Road Map released on June 19 failed to mention the importance of communications for the official language communities. Work to obtain full recognition for newspapers in the future Canada Periodical Fund continues.
